Dear
everyone,
My sincere apology
for the delay with letters and lessons. In my heart I know for sure
that you would understand if you knew the reasons why and the very
difficult circumstances that I am in now. I spoke to many of you by
phone and requested prayer, I thank all of you for continuing to pray
for each other. I am sustained by your prayers, gaining strength and
courage from God to go forward with this important work. Thank God
for the strong ties that bind us together in His power and wisdom.
The
most important thing a person can do in this life is pray -- being
in contact with God!!! In computer language: online with God,
or connect with God, or log on at any time, anywhere, no limitation,
free of charge, because Jesus Christ has pre-paid it all, at the highest
price ever. Prayer cannot be substituted or replaced by good works
done for others, instead we should pray to do good works. God is holy
and in control of all things in the universe, only with His power
and wisdom can our work be a blessing to both others and ourselves.
The good works that we do, we do for Him. Only through asking The
Lord Jesus to help us with the task before us, knowing that he will
fill all our needs, will he address the work according to his will.
No one else is appointed by God to be the intercessor of our prayers
but Him, The Lord Jesus.
Sometimes after hearing
the needs of someone's heart, all you can say is, "I can only pray
for you." Even if all you can do is say this statement, it is still
precious to God who is listening. Prayer is the act of petitioning
God on behalf of another or for yourself, it goes directly to God's
ear and discernment.
In prayer there is
power and answers from God sufficient for all that a person needs
now and forever. We hope to be more careful after reading this when
we say that we will pray for that person. Prayer is the most beautiful,
the most valuable, the very best thing that you can give or do for
another person. Pray with your whole heart whether it is for a need
that is so great and desperate or just out of love and friendship.
What ever reason it may be, let us realize when we call upon God for
ourselves or for another, to do it well.
Because of circumstances,
my presence here in Boca is required and going back to the Netherlands
is postponed until later this Spring. I will continue to write the
letters and lessons from here in Boca Raton, Fla. Your responses are
welcomed and should be mailed, e-mailed, or phoned in. The personal
bible lessons are sent by mail for those who do not have a computer.
The lesson topics are determined based on your responses and comments
that are indicative of what needs to be dealt with. This is what this
program is for, to help Christians in our daily lives being directed
with the word of God in a practical way.
I thank you for the
many, many lovely letters I received. Please, accept this letter to
all of you and let us keep on encouraging each other, it is needed.
It is good to care so much for each other and help with prayers.
Here's an urgent request
from one of us who needs prayer. She left to go to the Middle East
for an unknown period of time. Pray for her safety in that turbulent
part of the world. God can only give her what she so badly needs in
her life. Let her have a blessed journey and a safe homecoming, don't
forget her in your prayers, she really needs it. It is not important
that you know her personally or not, many of us do, she does pray
for all of us in this program.
Also remember "Mom"
in your prayers. She is our oldest bible student, almost 87 years
old. She still lives alone in Eindhoven and does everything by her
self, praise God!
I end this letter with
the very best wishes to all of you and God's blessings. May God's
Word richly dwell in you and be used in your daily life with fantastic
results, in Jesus Christ our Lord. In the service of the Lord, Sylvia.
